Management:
The Kennedy Wilson management team comprises of industry professionals with wide-ranging experience in real estate, finance and business management. The president of Kennedy Wilson Europe is Peter Collins who has been with the company for eight years and, until this promotion, held the position of CEO of the company. Prior to being appointed as CEO, Collins served as head of Ireland, a role he took on when he joined Kennedy Wilson in June 2011. The appointment was made when the company acquired the property investment management services of the Bank of Ireland where Collins served as director.
The chairman and CEO of the company is William McMorrow who purchased the company in 1988. McMorrow has spent a total of 43 years in the real estate industry of which 31 years were spent with Kennedy Wilson. The global president of the company is Mary Ricks. With a total of 32 years of experience in the real estate industry, Ricks is responsible for the company’s investment activities across the globe. She has been with Kennedy Wilson for 29 years and also serves on the board of directors and the investment committee. Ricks is known as one of the most influential people in the UK commercial property sector.
History:
The company has been operational in Europe since 2011 after acquiring the Bank of Ireland Real Estate Investment Management and purchasing a United Kingdom-based loan portfolio worth $1.8 billion. In 2014 Kennedy Wilson Europe Real Estate was listed on the London Stock Exchange. Between 2011 and 2019 the company made property acquisitions valued at over $10 billion and opened offices in Ireland, UK, Spain and the Channel Islands.
Kennedy Wilson was originally founded in 1977 as a real estate auction firm. In 1988, William McMorrow and partners purchased the company and began transforming it into an international high-end property sales company. In 1992 Kennedy Wilson became public on Nasdaq. From 1993 commercial property acquisitions were made and in 1994 the Japanese office opened its doors.
