And, of course, we’ll keep you updated with the latest news in real estate.

There are four main types of real estate: commercial, industrial, land, and residential.

commercial

Commercial

Commercial real estate is usually sought out by investors who are looking to see a significant return. This includes shopping centers, malls, and hotels as well as medical, educational, and office buildings. Apartment buildings that are larger than a fourplex also fall under the category of commercial real estate. Although apartments are technically residences, the purpose of owning an apartment building is to generate revenue. Therefore, it is considered commercial.

industrial

Industrial

Industrial real estate includes buildings, warehouses, and properties that are used for the purpose of manufacturing. Every aspect of the manufacturing process, including research, production, storage, and sometimes even distribution, is considered to take place on industrial real estate. The classification is important since industrial real estate has different zoning, construction, and sales laws than other types of real estate.

land

Land

Land real estate includes vacant land, undeveloped land, operational farms, and ranches. Developers often acquire vacant land and rezone it in order to increase property value. The purchase of land includes anything that is on the ground in that specific area, including trees, buildings, water, fields, minerals, animals, and more.

residential

Residential

Residential is the most common type of real estate and includes any home that will be used as a residence. The most common sub-category of residential real estate is single-family homes. Other types include condos, vacation homes, townhouses, and duplexes.
